Oral presentation at the 101st RSNA Annual Meeting

RSNAOur paper “XACT: A New Imaging Modality Based on Ultrasonic Detection of X-ray Absorption” has been accepted as an oral presentation at the 101st RSNA Annual Meeting at Chicago, on November 29-December 4 th, 2015.

RSNA 2015 celebrates RSNA’s 100 years at the forefront of the radiology industry—bringing together the specialty’s professionals for education opportunities and networking, and providing a forum for collaboration on the latest innovations by practitioners and manufacturers alike.

TRUE lab hosts CoE medical imaging summer camp

The TRUE lab has hosted the 2015 CoE medical imaging summer camp for high school students on July 11th. A lecture relevant to Medical Imaging has been given to the students.  A lab tour for X-ray imaging and hands-on training with the ultrasound imaging system were provided by our postdocs and graduate students. Oral presentation at the 2015 AAPM Annual Meeting

AAPMOur paper “Proton-Acoustic Range Verification in Proton Therapy” has been accepted as an oral presentation at the 57th AAPM Annual Meeting at Anaheim, California on July 12-16th, 2015.

The AAPM Annual Meeting & Exhibition held in late July or early August draws about 4,000 participants to the world’s largest program of scientific, educational and professional presentations plus technical exhibits and social programs that targets the medical physics community specifically.

Oral and poster presentation at the 7th Annual CBIS Symposium

CBISDr. Xiang will give an oral and poster presentation on “XACT: Ultrasonic Detection of X-ray Absorption” at the 7th Annual CBIS Symposium at Stanford University on April 29th, 2015. Of the 58, about 15 were chosen for an additional oral presentation.
The mission of the Center for Biomedical Imaging at Stanford (CBIS) is to advance science through multidisciplinary biomedical imaging. The Center emphasizes applied biomedical imaging by fostering collaboration between researchers and sharing of imaging resources.

Publication highlighted on the cover of Medical Physics

Medical physics coverXiang’s recent paper on X-ray acoustic imaging (Med Phys. 2013; 40(1):01070.) was selected to be the cover of Jan. issue of the Medical Physics Journal. The work was also highlighted under the Editor’s Picks column and is on the list of the most downloaded papers in Medical Physics Website.

Xiang is awarded DoD Prostate Cancer Research Program Postdoctoral Fellowship

DoDDespite significant budget cuts in support of various funding agencies, Liangzhong Xiang has received a two-year postdoctoral fellowship (photoaccoutic imaging of prostate cancer) from the Department of Defense (DOD) ProstateCancer Research Program. Only two Stanford postdocs got this award in 2012.
